Home Away From Home
One of our local clients asked us to spend a fortnight working on this second home, a fisherman's cottage in Cornwall.
Home Away From Home
You might never guess that what looks like roughly-sawn timber here is in fact cleverly disguised moulded concrete.
Home Away From Home: Living Wall
We filled old tights with pennywort and herbs, along with dirt and nutrients, and "planted" them in this old dry stone wall to turn it into a living wall.
Home Away From Home: Before
We had to move 18 tonnes of hardcore and waste and we used 12 tonnes of sand and 2 tonnes of cement to complete the two week landscaping job to turn this untidy yard into a maintenance-free outdoor living space.
Home Away From Home: After
Being a second home, one of the owner's key aims was to ensure that the outdoor space would be zero-maintenance. And because the property is liable to flooding during Spring tides, we had to take care to avoid materials that might leach chemicals into the groundwater when submerged.
